A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a given mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. To state it differently, if you remove an email address and someone still sends an email to it, or to any miswritten address under the same domain, you’ll get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason, which could be essential if you run some company, for instance. Since you may start receiving spam emails, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters so as to receive only real email messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

In case you have a shared web hosting with us and you would like to enable the catch-all option for a given e-mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can select one single email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with a few mouse clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated server with our company. The hosting account will be managed through our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes under any domain name hosted here. To activate the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you’ll need to click on the button with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the very same way and will not take more than a click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a given domain name, you’ll get a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never change or disable any feature automatically.
